Totem & Spirit Animals: A Visit From A Blue Jay

December 5, 2018

Blue Jays are interesting creatures.  Beautiful and protective and aggressive. The vibrant blues are a welcome sight heading into winter, a colorful reminder that despite the dreary seasonal dormancy life still manages to thrive.

If you find yourself in an oak tree heavy forest, an acorn-loving blue jay may have helped to grow it!

While other bird calls might be difficult to pluck out, nearly everyone understands when a blue jay is nearby. Jay calls seem to strike a chord with surrounding animals, humans included. You do not want to be on the wrong end of a blue jay's course. But if you find yourself being visited by a blue jay, whether in life or a dream, they may have a message for you!

Is your environment affecting you more than you're affecting it? Then take a page out of their blue book and be bold

Blue Jays have some pretty fascinating symbology and when you're visited by one, it can be a good indicator that you may need to get some momentum going in your life. Think about what we associate blue jays with: Motivated. Purposeful.  Powerful. If provoked, they will defend their young. Even if not provoked, they aren't messing around! A blue jay holds nothing back, why should it?

And why should you?

assertive - resourceful - confident - motivated - loyal

curious - momentum - the importance of action

If you find yourself visited by a blue jay, think about how you're handling your environment. Are you caught in the current or are you navigating your own course? Is your environment affecting you more than you're affecting it? Then take a page out of their blue book and be bold. Perhaps its time to really go all in and start pushing yourself.
